CARING FOR YOUR JEWELRY

Caring for your Nicky Butler Jewelry

To brighten the sterling silver and remove light tarnish, gently polish your piece with a jewelry polishing cloth or a cotton cloth.

Do not clean your jewelry with:

  • Ultrasonic cleaners
  • Dipping Solutions
  • Abrasives
  • Chemical Solutions

Often chemicals will clean your silver, however, they can also take away the shine and/or destroy the beauty of your stones.

We suggest a quick wipe of your jewelry after wearing (to remove any residue of beauty products or perspiration). Store your pieces along with the black anti-tarnish tab that shipped with your purchase to help prevent tarnish.

To care for your investment, we suggest that you remove your jewelry when:

  • Bathing, showering, swimming, washing your hands or dishes
  • Applying lotion, perfumes, hair spray & other beauty products
  • While using household chemicals (bleach, ammonia or detergents)

Storage

Store your pieces along with the black anti-tarnish tab that shipped with your purchase to help prevent tarnish.

Jewelry with faceted stones should be stored so the stones do not to touch other pieces of jewelry, to prevent scratching.

For jewelry with opaque stones (coral, lapis lazuli, pink opal, Rhodochrosite, turquoise) and/or freshwater cultured pearls, we suggest storing in linen, soft cloth, or place in a soft pouch. This helps prevent surface scratching. We do not recommend storing these stones/freshwater pearls in airtight plastic bags, as the bags do not allow moisture and excessive dryness may occur over time, making the stone/freshwater pearl more fragile.
